It was created on May 26, 1950 by Supreme Decree No. 1,117 of the Ministry of Lands and Colonization. It has undergone subsequent modifications, due to different decrees.
The unit stands out for the protection of fauna species such as the puma, the wink, the black woodpecker, the mountain monkey, the brown striped lizard, the Darwin’s frog and the freshwater tollo. Regarding flora: araucaria or pehuén, mountain range cypress, lleuque, dwarf radal, Andean cinnamon, among other species.
Its main trails are:
– Sierra Nevada;
– The Araucarias;
– The carpenters;
– Truful Truful;
– Captrén lagoon circuit;
– Rainbow lagoon circuit;
NOTICE: open with restrictions of people (200 per sector) Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Captrén, Truful Truful and Los Paraguas sectors.
REGULATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
• The use of fire in the park is prohibited.
• Pets are prohibited from entering the unit.
• The use of plastic bags is prohibited.
• Visitors are welcome to bring their trash from the park and participate in the recycling program.
• Camping is prohibited in unauthorized areas.
• Respect the recreational fishing regulations.
